In 1971, General Cigar Company introduced a new cigar named Macanudo as a brand unto itself. Developed in Jamaica under the creative leadership of Ramon Cifuentes, the legendary Cuban cigar master of Partagas, Macanudo soon became the leading premium cigar and remains so today.

Cigar Master Daniel Núñez has released a phenomenal cigar to showcase only the most exemplary of his beloved Connecticut Shade wrapper leaves from the year 2000 crop, only the sixth crop in 27 years deemed worthy of the Macanudo Vintage designation. To further highlight the regal nature of Macanudo Vintage cigars, each of the four frontmarks are individually cradled in crystal tubes, etched with the Macanudo Crest and sealed with natural cork caps. The hand-packed, solid black mahogany boxes are humidor-styled, each protecting 20 cigars. All of the premium tobaccos selected from the extraordinary crops were aged separately by a special Cuban process that enriches the flavors of the leaves as nothing else can. To achieve a more flavorful cigar, Daniel combines the sweetness of a Connecticut Broadleaf binder with a fuller-flavored blend of Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos.
